Caroline's Marathon

Two Systems. Two Kinds of Proof.

Two Systems. Two Kinds of Proof.

TWO SYSTEMS. TWO KINDS OF PROOF.

Trapped.

Like millions of people around the world, Caroline Drury suddenly found herself confined by the pandemic.

Routines changed. Plans disappeared. The boundaries of everyday life shrank.

And in that enforced stillness, there was more time to notice the woman in the mirror.

Caroline was dissatisfied with what she saw.

With how she felt physically.

With the distance between the woman she had become and the woman she still believed she could be.

The mirror didn't give her an answer.

It gave her a question:

Is this who I want to remain?

Caroline decided it wasn't.

Start with what you have

There was no grand plan at first.

No elaborate home gym. No sophisticated training program.

There was what happened to be available.

A mop or broom handle.

Rubber bands.

Living-room cushions.

A kettlebell.

Whatever could be turned into resistance became part of the workout.

It wasn't glamorous.

There was no polished fitness persona yet.

Not even a jog or a run.

There was simply a woman who wanted to feel better about herself, working with what she had.

And continuing.

Sometimes even the equipment had other ideas.

There is something wonderfully human about that moment.

Change rarely begins looking like transformation.

It usually just looks like someone trying again.

When motivation isn't enough

Caroline kept going.

But like anyone trying to make a lasting change, she discovered something important along the way.

Motivation moves.

Life interrupts.

Energy changes.

Good intentions are not always enough.

What she needed was something she could continue even when motivation wasn't at its highest.

A system.

Caroline began building a sustainable approach to training that could be repeated, adjusted and carried forward.

Her own explanation is beautifully simple:

“Systems take the overthinking out of the process.”

The goal itself didn't need to change.

She wanted to be healthy, fit and strong.

What changed was her idea of where those goals might take her.

Beyond.

The goal stayed the same.

What seemed possible kept expanding.

Her system works

Caroline is the living proof.

Her system helped her transform herself from being physically out of shape to fit.

It helped her sustain her fitness and well-being over the years.

And now, in her mid-forties, it has brought her to a point where she can undertake a much greater challenge.

7 marathons.

7 continents.

7 days.

In November 2026, Caroline is preparing to take part in The Great World Race, which is scheduled to run from November 15–21 and take competitors through seven official marathons on seven continents in one week.

The Great World Race is not where Caroline's system will finally prove itself.

It already has.

The race is the next test of how far that system can take her.

She didn't begin this journey as a woman preparing to run seven marathons around the world.

She became the woman capable of taking this on.

Another system

Caroline built one system that changed what she was capable of.

But it is not the only system she has trusted.

There is another one she has carried with her for much longer.

The Metrin Skincare System.

For 25 years.

Long before the pandemic.

Long before the fitness transformation.

Long before seven marathons on seven continents seemed imaginable.

Metrin was already part of how Caroline cared for her skin.

And it still is.

A different beginning. A familiar idea.

About a century ago, Dr. George Runnels began with dissatisfaction of his own.

Unhappy with his skin and unsatisfied with the products available to him, he studied, tested and refined a better approach.

That work became the Metrin Skincare System, introduced in 1932 after years of research and testing.

For nearly a century, generations of women have made Metrin part of their lives.

One of them was Caroline.

She has now been using the Metrin Skincare System for 25 years.

Two systems.

Very different purposes.

Very different kinds of proof.

A system for the skin

Metrin is a complete daily skincare system with coordinated steps designed to cleanse, condition, protect and nourish the skin.

Rather than assembling disconnected products one at a time, the products are designed to be used together in sequence as a complete ritual. The current Metrin system uses five coordinated steps and is intended to support skin that looks and feels cared for, balanced and healthy-looking over time. Metrin Skincare Canada

But there is something more interesting here than the number of steps.

There is the question of why something stays in a person's life.

Twenty-five years is evidence

We leave things behind all the time.

Habits.

Routines.

Products.

The things we carry forward have to continue giving us a reason to choose them.

And with skincare, that reason can be surprisingly simple:

being happy with how your skin looks and feels.

Twenty-five years is a long time to keep choosing anything.

But the years themselves are not the benefit.

They are evidence.

What matters is that Caroline continued to have a reason to choose Metrin.

That is where long-term skincare becomes something more meaningful than longevity for longevity's sake.

The goal isn't merely to use the same skincare for a long time.

The goal is to continue enjoying how your skin looks and feels through time.

Skin Longevity through change

Skin Longevity isn't about keeping skin — or life — unchanged.

Neither works that way.

We change.

Our lives change.

Our skin changes with us.

The more meaningful ambition is to care for it through those changes and continue to feel good about the skin we are living in.

Caroline's life makes that idea unusually visible.

A few years ago, she looked in the mirror and wanted something to change.

Today, she is preparing to run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.

A great deal changed.

Her strength.

Her ambitions.

Her sense of what was possible.

Through all of it, the Metrin Skincare System remained part of how she cared for her skin.

Twenty-five years — and still part of the journey.

Caroline's story is her own.

But the idea behind it belongs to all of us.

Life changes.

We change.

And the things worth carrying forward are the things that continue to help us be the best we can be through the changes in our lives.

Still moving forward.
